Smartphone Battery

Today, everyone must have a smartphone, especially in urban areas. Smart phones are used for various users and are used by every smartphone using batteries as their power supply. Battery is a device that can convert chemical energy stored into energy that can be used by electronic devices. The type of battery used is the types of secondary battery that can be reused. The types are also many because of the development of the times and the necessity of the present.

  • Types of Batteries belonging to the Secondary Battery Category (Rechargeable Batteries) include:

1. NiCd (Nickle Cadmium)

This type of battery is the first rechargeable battery with a large capacity, but currently this type of battery is abandoned because it has a large size so it does not fit the current gadget which is  thin and small. This nickel type battery has a memory with a permanent effect. This means that if it is not cased the right way, the ends of the battery capacity will continue to decrease and die completely.
2. NiMH (Nickel Metal Hydride)

This type of battery is a type of battery that is environmentally friendly and smaller in shape and lighter in weight than the previous generation battery. The NiMH battery model has more storage capacity than the first generation battery. This battery is charged when the battery is completely empty. Battery models like this are still widely found in lower middle class mobile phones.

3. Li-Ion (Lithium Ion)

The third generation battery is a type of battery that is widely used in smartphones today because of its small size and large capacity. This Li-ion has no memory effect, so we can charge the battery without waiting for the battery to run out. The disadvantage of this Li-ion is its short "life cycle". If overcharged this battery will decrease in performance.

4. Li-Po (Lithium Polymer)

This battery material is environmentally friendly, but how to handle it must be more careful because of its liquid nature. if you press too hard the shape can change, so make sure when handling this type of battery do not get hit or pressure. This battery also has a small size and large capacity, so this battery has started a lot on today's smartphones.
